Phil Ivey to Teach Poker to the Masses
When considering the world's best poker pros, Phil Ivey definitely comes to mind with his success in winning eight World Series of Poker bracelets and earnings in excess of $17 million playing poker. We saw him make the final table yet again at this year's WSOP placing him at five final tables during his career. Ivey gave ESPN Playbook an exclusive interview and talked about poker and such. “I want to teach the world how to play better poker,” Ivey told ESPN Playbook. “I feel like there's a big hole in the poker community. I speak with people all the time about poker, and people say they'd love to learn how to play but they don't know where to start. It'd be nice to teach people how to play the correct way.” To get the ball rolling in he launched IveyPoker.com which is a totally free website designed to teach those interested in learning how to play poker and there are some great teachers including Ivey and a few of his industry buddies. Ivey spoke about his website and his quest to teach poker to the masses. “I was looking at other social poker sites, and when I was looking through them, I saw a really big hole in those sites: People aren't learning how to play. You see people just going on there and playing, but not really learning how to play the right way. What we're doing here is teaching people how to become a winning poker player. I think a lot of people really don't know how to play poker, and I think this is going to be an opportunity to play with the best players in the world”, Ivey said during the interview with ESPN Playbook.
