Surprising stats arrived from the World Poker Tour's WPT Montreal leg which set a record in the Canadian tournament poker world with a field of 1 173 players, which made it the largest tournament in the country with a buy-in of $1,000 or more.
Of the massive number, only 360 players made it to the Day Two of the action held at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal. In the lead at the beginning of the day was Patrick Leviever with a chip count of 326 100, closely followed by Kalpesh Raichura with 314 200, Kerry Shears with 299 000 and Jeff Gross with 284 000.
