This week, the World Series of Poker announced the official schedule for the inaugural World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific competition, which will be held at Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia from April 4 to 15, 2013.
In the statement, the WSOP noted that supporting satellites will be launched soon, and that the series will include High Roller and Caesars Cup Invitational events.
The buy-ins into the events will range from A$1,100 to A$50,000 for the High Roller and they will feature Pot Limit Omaha, NLHE and 6 handed NLHE, along with a mixed game event.
The main event will run from April 11 through 15, and it will be both live streamed and televised, as well as the High Roller and Caesars Cup.
According to WSOP executive director Ty Stewart, “We can't wait for the first WSOP Asia-Pacific to begin, and we hope with a solidified schedule, players from around the globe will plan their trip to Melbourne in April as we make WSOP history [by] awarding the first bracelets in the Southern Hemisphere.”
