Rettenmaier Wins Two European Poker Awards
The inaugural European Poker Awards held at the Aviation Club de Paris and sponsored by Global Poker Index were in the sign of German poker ace Marvin Rettenmaier who won two awards during the ceremony - German Player of the Year and European Player of the Year. Another great award was given to Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen – that for a Lifetime Achievement Award. Some other laureates include the one to Jens Kyllönen as Best Internet Player; Davidi Kitai as Best Tournament Player; Ole Schemion as Best Rookie; Top Poker Staffer - Simon Trumper and Best Tournament of the Year - EPT Barcelona, and to the event commentator Kara Scott as Poker Personality of the Year. As for the national Player of the Year awards, they were distributed as follows: Andrea Dato - Italy Juha Helppi -Finland Bertrand Grospellier - France Cesar Garcia - Spain Marvin Rettenmaier - Germany Roberto Romanello - Britain Davidi Kitai - Belgium Dermot Blain - Ireland Ivo Donev - Austria
