Operators Seek Extension from Nevada Gaming Commission to Complete Testing
Nevada gaming regulators have been asked for a six month extension from three online poker operators for software testing. South Point Poker and Monarch Interactive were the first two companies to receive licenses to operate real money poker online from Nevada and may be granted the additional time to test along with a third company, American Casino and Entertainment Properties, LLC (ACEP). It seems that all three companies are in different stages of technological testing; however it is a critical factor of operation. At this point, we still don't know when any licensed sites will go live but this hasn't stopped Governor Brian Sandoval from pursuing legislation on interstate gaming. The Gaming Control Board in Carson City, Nevada have already approved the additional time requested and this will give the operator until August to complete their testing phases but they must also receive the go ahead from the Nevada Gaming Commission in two weeks. Delaware is another state expected to go live soon and with any luck, September could be the month. New Jersey is also getting close to nailing down some legislation for online poker. At this rate either state may jump ahead of Nevada and deal the first online hand of poker.
