Update: Poker Ace Confirms Issues with IRS
This week, the industry heard from former 2007 World Series of Poker champ Jerry Yang regarding his winner's bracelet and other valuables that appeared in an auction by the IRS to secure unpaid taxes. On the occasion, he confirmed that he had been involved in an unpaid taxes issue with the taxman due to bad financial advice and funds locked in fixed deposits with a leading bank. He also revealed that he was good to his word and donated 10 percent of his WSOP winnings to charity before he had paid his IRS dues. However, he also specified that his finances are in a good place mostly thanks to his good investment into a restaurant. Finally, he assured his fans and friends that he is currently working on his IRS case with the help of an accountant.
