PokerStars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Win Goes to Dinesh Alt
A big win of A$226,320 at the Pokerstars Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Sydney main event went to Dinesh Alt who outplayed 459 other players on his way to the triumph. The final table on day three saw Bosnian player Dejan Divkovic, a winner of the ANZPT Perth, as a chip leader, followed by Dinesh Alt, Dominik Nitsche, David Campion, Michael Fadersen, Donald Jones, Gary Benson, Rick Solomon and Dan Kelly. However, despite the fact that he looked like the prospective winner, in a heads-up clash against Alt, Divkovic was defeated and after a couple of chip lead exchanges, had to settle for the runner-up prize of A$ 144,440. In related news, another top tournament was finished over the weekend - the PartyPoker Premier League VI which was taken down by hedge fund manager and poker ace Dan Shak who apart from the title took home $450,000. Some of his opponents included big shots such as Tobias Reinkemeier, who sat at the final table along with Sam Trickett, Antonio Esfandiari, Jonathan Duhamel, Daniel Cates, Jennifer Tilly, Talal Shakerchi and Shak. In the end, the heads-up saw a clash between Shak, a 2 to 1 chip leader, and UK's own Sam Trickett who was not able to defeat the aggressive opponent and left the competition with the runner-up prize of $200,000.
