News came over the weekend that Team Europe, comprising Marvin Rettenmaier, Phil Gruissem, Dominik Nitsche, Sam Holden, and captain Sam Trickett won a poker competition under the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific and 2013 Caesars Cup banner in Melbourne, Australia against teams from two other continents.
For Team America played captain Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Merson and Phil Hellmuth.
The third team was Team Asia-Pacific skippered by former WSOP main event champ Joe Hachem, and comprising Jeff Lisandro, Jackie Glazier, cricket star Shane Warne, Andrew Hinrichsen and Richard Yong.
This is the second time in a rowthis invite-only contest was won by the European team.
