First Week of Operation in Nevada Generous to Ultimate Poker
Things seem to be going fine for the first legalized online poker site to go live in the United States - Ultimate Poker, and so far the site has exceeded expectations. Namely, reports that arrived regarding the pioneer site's first week's operations noted that traffic is increasing every day, from 136 peak cash game players on launch day (last Tuesday) to 287 players on Sunday. It has already dealt its 100,000th hand of poker on its third day of operations, and there are estimates that real-money play has seen well over 10,000 individual account holders wagering in the first week. Some of the issues that arose during the first week included problems with the registration process, Verizon mobile phone customers being unable to register, difficulty downloading the software with Internet Explorer, and the lack of a mobile or Mac-friendly app. According to Ultimate, all these problems are being addressed as we speak. In terms of its poker offerings, Cyberarts-powered Ultimate Poker divided them into three categories: Ring Games, Sit And Gos and Tournaments, and the available tables are sorted by stakes, table name, buy-in, number of players and more detailed information such as the average size of the pot, number of hands per hour and percentage of players who see the flop. The company is managed by industry veterans Joe Versaci, Tobin Prior, Chris Derossi and Tom Breitling, one of which, Tobin Prior, recently commented on the company software's benefits: “We feel our technology is a major advantage. Ultimate Poker's proprietary software is completely owned and operated by parent company Ultimate Gaming, allowing for continuous investment and product development.”
