iPoker Network Bans Super Affiliate Muchos Poker!
Reports came over the weekend about a ban imposed by Playtech's iPoker Network on its super affiliate Muchos Poker this week. So far, it is not clear why the network made such a decision, but it is known that they are conducting a security investigation and that the whole issue may be linked to player-to-player transfer issues. In its banning notice, iPoker only wrote that“All Muchos poker activity is now officially banned on the iPoker Network. From this point on all card rooms are to stop accepting any new players from Muchos poker. All existing accounts are to be banned, if funds are present in accounts they are allowed to be withdrawn following normal checks relating to collusion, fraud or account verification.” Furthermore, it has been revealed by the media that the Malta regulator Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) has recently been dealing with player complaints regarding Muchos, whose business model is based on facilitating players across several networks under a single account. On the other side Muchos has suspended all transfers between is iPoker accounts, and at present seems to be in a conciliatory mood, stating that "...we will assist iPoker in their investigations to the best of our ability and try to find an acceptable solution with them, so we can get back to marketing and bringing in new players to the great game of poker.” Also, the affiliate thinks of itself as blameless: “From our perspective, we believe we have done nothing untoward and followed all network rules and regulations and performed necessary KYC checks on all players and will continue to do so.” Such moderate statements should not raise eyebrows, as the company has a lot at stake with the network where it serves as an affiliate for four major online poker rooms: William Hill, poker770, dafabet Poker and Winner Poker. At the same time, it is also operating three rooms itself, on the Enet and Revolution Gaming networks, and on Instadeal for fast-fold poker.
