Californian Tribes’ Online Poker Draft Version at Final Stage
The Californian tribal interests in the online poker legalisation are at their final stage, with the draft proposal circulating among interested parties in the state. This third initiative will be competing with renewed proposals in the California Legislature from Senators Wright and Correa. There are several principal points in the draft relating mostly to licensing: * Firstly, licensing will be restricted to current California tribal gambling establishment and commercial cardroom operators. *The same as in Wright's proposal, provisions that exclude horse racing track and advanced deposit wagering operators. * Licensing fees of $5 million which is $25 million lower than what Wright has proposed. * 10 years of license duration - twice that of the Sen.Wright proposal.
