World Poker Tour Signs Deal with Fox Sports Network
Officials for the World Poker Tour have announced a new 3-year television contract with FOX Sports Network. This agreement will bring nearly 100 hours of new WPT poker programming to the network over the next five years. Season XII of the WPT will kick off the deal featuring five designated main events on the cable network schedule through the end of this year. Participating players will have the chance to be a part of a TV final in August 2013 when the WPT heads back to the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles for their annual Legends of Poker Tournament. Other events scheduled for TV time include stops at the Borgata, the Grand Prix de Paris in France, the Playground Poker Club in Montreal and the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. The World Poker Tour has also released a schedule for the rest of 2013 which includes 11 Main Events and 10 Regional & National Events across 4 continents. The first event at the WPT Cyprus will be televised on August 16th with live streaming from the Final Table. Other events scheduled for TV include WPT Caribbean on November 19th, WPT Montreal on November 29th, WPT Prague on December 15th and the final main event of the year in South Korea.
