WSOP Sees Another Canadian Win
Ottawa-born 22-year-old professional player Levi Berger emerged victorious in event 11: the $2,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Six-Max, thus becoming the fourth Canadian to win a bracelet at this year's WSOP. On his way to the main prize of $473,019, Berger dominated a field of 924 entrants, including two former World Series of Poker champions in Scott Clements and Jacob Bazeley. They all made it to the final table, along with Ben Palmer, Eddy Sabat and David Gonia. The heads-up resulted in an hour-long clash between the Canadian and Scott Clements, in which Berger displayed formidable skill, and dispatched Clements home with $292,339, while he took home his biggest payday yet.
