Charity Poker Between Top Businessmen and Poker Pros
This week saw the 4th Annual "Take 'Em To School" charity poker tournament gather a pool of major Wall Street players, sports and other celebs and poker pros. The competition recorded 250 entries, all of whom were fighting to raise funds for education charity Education Reform Now. Some of the big poker names in the $1,000 buy-in event held in New York include billionaire businessman David Einhorn, Olivier Busquet, former Wall Street trader Andy Frankenberger and Erik Seidel. The final table seated a host of business hotshots, such as Norman Lai (Omega Advisors); Ray Waterhouse (Magnitude Capital); David Marquart (First New York Securities); Raza Mujaba (Tricadia Capital); Oleg Nodelman, (EcoR1 Capital); and John Sabat (SAC), and one politician - New York State Senator Jeff Klein. After six hours of action, the win went into the hands of a once-a-year player Paul Britton - CEO of Capstone Holdings group, who in return for his effort received a seat at the 2014 World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. Commenting on his win, Britton said: “I was lucky, very lucky. I only play poker one night a year — and it's this tournament.”
