Interstate Poker Partnerships for Nevada?
Nevada governor Brian Sandoval has been given approval from the state legislature to negotiate interstate compacts in an attempt to improve online poker player liquidity. The Nevada Gaming Control Board met Wednesday and discussed the situation and it seems that Sandoval is bound by the need for agreed technical specifications. During an interview with Vegas Inc, Sandoval confirmed his talks with like-minded states but could not proceed due to the requirement for the NGCB and the Nevada Gaming Commission to nail down regulations. Agreements with other states is not limited to online poker as representatives from establish gaming companies have tried to establish interstate deals that would bring progressive slot games to various states much like a country wide lottery such as Powerball. Sandoval has hired a Nevada lawyer, John Moran, to monitor the interstate regulatory process because of his previous experience with interstate negotiations.
