AGA Exec Risks Popularity
Geoff Freeman, the new chief exec at the American Gaming Association, is getting reactions from an article with online poker movie 'Runner, Runner' starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake as the subject. Freeman spoke last month about his intention to leverage the movie to influence public and political opinions on online poker toward federal legalization and he did so in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He pointed out the seedy online poker sector which he stated was “sadly, not far from reality”. He went on to say that the government is “doing everything in its power to crack down on illegal operators - just like those portrayed in Runner Runner.” His wide generalizations are not making him a popular man among the industry and other sectors.
