German player Louis Cartarius won the Euro 550 buy-in 2013 Pokerlistings Battle of Malta tournament this weekend over 887 other opponents. The event was three times as large as it was last year and is the biggest live tourney win of Cartaruis' career.
Cartarius approached the final table with the second lowest stack against Konrad Abela, Ambjorn Haga, Arthur Popov, Lauri Pesonen, Alessandro de Loco, Sonny La, Guiseppe Polichetti and Daniel Lucasz.
In the end it was just Cartarius and Konrad Abela, of Malta, in a battle that lasted five hands and landed Abela second prize with Euro 52,000.
