California Online Poker Bill Up for Discussion

California Online Poker Bill Up for Discussion
The California state Legislature will be discussing legalized online poker once again and it's looking a bit more promising as the tribal community has taken an interest with at least seven tribes in support of a bill drafted by the Pechanga tribe. Those that have had a glimpse at the draft bill claim say that California will prohibit pools with other players. There are also provisions to restrict licensing to just one online poker room reserving licensing for card rooms and tribal casino that have been in operation for a minimum of five years. Predictions indicate that licensing in California will come with an initial fee of $5 million and tax at 5 percent of GGR. The state Legislature session will begin on February 21st.
