British Ace Wins Another Million
British poker ace Chris Moorman wins over a million dollars at the $10,000 buy-in NLHE World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic main event. The major live tournament victory was eluding him for so long this week, but he got through and became richer for $ 1,015,460 summing up his career earnings to $15 million. This is Moorman's first actual time where he takes the first prize, although he had an outstanding career making the final tables of numerous major live tournaments. This year's Classic main event, at the Commerce Casino in LA, entered 534 competitors generating a prize pool of $5,126,400. The final table featured Moorman and Glenn Lafaye, Michael Rocco, Patric Bruel, Josh Neufeld and Adam Friedman. At the beginning, Rocco had the advantage with an impressive chip lead. Later on the action reached the three-handed stage with Rocco, LaFaye and Moorman, and our British ace took a massive hit which would destroyed many players, but he quickly recovered, eliminating Rocco, who left the table with $423,000. Moorman was now facing Glenn LaFaye who had a lead of about a million chips. Moorman took the lead eliminating LaFaye at hand 164, who left the competition with a considerable second prize of $423,000.
