New Yorker Wins WSOP Millionaire Maker Event
A new millionaire has been born at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Jonathan Dimmig of Upstate New York knocked out 7,977 players in the second annual World Series of Poker Millionaire Maker event. Dimmig won a gold bracelet and $1,319,587. "My goal on the first day was just to make it through the day”, Dimmig said. "I'd played the Main Event here all the last three years and never even cashed in that. So coming in, my goal was really to just get the money off my back and just cash -- that's really all I wanted to do." Among the huge number of participants were some major players including Jake Cody, Steve Gee, Layne Flack, Matt Glantz, Andy Bloch, Shawn Buchanan, Poker Hall of famer Mike Sexton, Humbert Brenes, Tony Gregg, Dan O'Brien, Greg Mueller, Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Matt Salsberg, Dwyte Pilgrim, and Curt Kohlberg.
