Tommy Hang Snags First WSOP Bracelet
Congratulations are in order for Tommy Hang, Washington state pro, for winning his very first WSOP bracelet, along with a whopping $230,744 prize in event 27 of the series. Hang has had his sights set on this for quite some time so he is certainly relishing in this exciting moment. The event required the standard $10,000 buy-in and was made up of a total of 743 competitors, including known players like Jon Turner, Dutch Boyd, David Baker and Jim Collopy. Together, they created a massive pool over a million dollars. More specifically, the pool totaled to $1,003,744. In the final stretch of the event, the final table consisted of Collopy, Kristan Lord, Brandon Guss, Joseph Villella, Chris George, Stewart Yanick, Dave Baker and, of course, Hang. It came down to just Collopy and Hang in the final moments, with Hang in the lead holding a 2 to 1 chip advantage. The rest is history! The Washington player moved up to an even better advantage of 6 to 1 and won the event, leaving Collopy with a cool $142,533 in runner-up pay.
