WSOP Event 28 Causes a Stir
Though things didn't look good for Russian Poker player, Alex Bilokur, he managed to come out on top in event 28 of the WSOP. The resulting heads up involved an intense process that began with an 8 to chip disadvantage. Despite this, however, Bilokur was able to skillfully turn the tables, so much so, that he snagged the first prize. The game ended in a heads up, presenting Bilokur as well as Matt O'Donnell as the two final players. Bilokur began with a mere 500,000 in chips, in comparison to O'Donnell. The Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship event was composed of 160 players. This resulted in a massive, $1,504,000 prize pool. In order for the event to come to an official end, both finalists were placed up against players well-known for their skills such as Erik Seidel, Barny Boatman, Scott Seiver, Dan Shak, Pratyush Buddiga, Chino Rheem and Todd Brunson. During the final stretch of the heads up, Bilokur made quite a bit of headway and wound up taking the lead. He was awarded the first prize of $398,567 as well as his very first World Series of Poker winner's bracelet. The rest of the pot was divided as follows: Alex Venovski $178,434 Chino Rheem $131,705 Ismael Bojang $98,978 Todd Brunson $75,681 Pratyush Buddiga $58,851 Richard Lyndaker $46,533 Barny Boatman $37,389
