Amateur Poker Player Wins WSOP Ladies NLHE Championship
The $10,000 buy-in Ladies NLHE Championship competition, Event 53 at the World Series of Poker, came to a close over the weekend after a heads up between two amateur players, Haixa Zhang and Mikiyo Aoki. The event continued over three days with 793 entrants and a $713,700 prize pool. Meikat Siu was knocked out taking third place and $61,114. Mikiyo Aoki started out as chip leader at the final table but then there were two. Aoki faced Haixa Zhang in the heads up with Zhang taking top prize of $153,470 and her first WSOP bracelet. Aoki walked away with the runner up prize of $94,800.
