After losing his case against a major UK land casino due to his edge-sorting ways, Phil Ivey now has to close his Phil Ivey Poker.com coaching and social website after just one year.
The closure is believed to be the result of a lack of business support from the players.
Ivey is now interested in a marketing deal with the Californian Palatribe which also involves former Bwin.Party co-CEO Jim Ryan.
Ryan is the head of Pala Interactive, a joint online gambling project between the California Pala Band of Mission Indians awaiting legislation.

Phil Ivey is a great player maybe the best on the world at the moment, but you can't tell me that he isn't suspicious man. I mean all that lawsuits against him are not without a reason, maybe he isn't classic cheater but there is something about him what tell me that he do something that is forbiden in casinos. Feedback: Ivey said that they aare not closing site, they just (can't remmember the right word) 'reinstal' it. He said, he want to bring new expirience in coaching. And who is better person to offer that, than best player in the world. Looking forward to the new project, go Ivey!

@luminairee He had coaches, they were sorted nicely. It was mostly cash game videos but some of the tournaments regs were there too. We can't really know for sure why he closed, I think its because of lack of his videos. Also, site wasn't organised as good as others professional coaching sites, so why would people pay...

Also, site wasn't organised as good as others professional coaching sites, so why would people pay same money for something that is worse than they can get on the other sites..?

@h34d, gotta corect you on this one. Ivey's site was coaching site for mostly mid to high stakes players, so what you heard that it was expensive is not corect. for them 200$/h is like 1/4 of the buy in.. Also, saying 'why would he coach' on site that he started is super funny.. He was giving some lessions but simply not...

@luminairee No he had coaches, but thing is that he didnt coach himself. And those coaches were too expencive, since they are not Ivey himself. But that's just my opinion, based on feedback from few players that tried/used it.

Thing is that he didn't coach himself, which everyone expected. Ofcourse he wouldn't coach himself. Why would he spend his time on it, when he can make at least thousands of dollars at the same time playing online. Also, 'classes' were too expencive for most of the users, considering that random players that Ivey supports...

Does this luck of business means he had no interest back from players in coaching or what does it mean ?

That site was working really bad. I think most people expected some coaching for Phil himself, not other players that he sponsored. Anyways, Phil, get back to the tables please, we want some real poker action from you. Best player ever if you ask me.
