Yahoo has announced that it will no longer deliver poker games to players via Yahoo Poker effective December 31, 2014.
The company will also shut down its Yahoo Pool and Yahoo Bingo services at the end of this year.
Security issues reportedly played a part in the decision with the company indicating a need for improvement among its pages described as "incompatible, insecure and no longer functioning correctly.”
The future may bring a Texas Hold'em game. The company has been working on games with security improvements and a spokesperson said that a revised Texas Hold'em offering may be launched in a social gaming format.
