Paul Phua Not Tied to Organized Crime
Paul "Wei Seng" Phua, a poker player being prosecuted for his involvement in illegal sports betting from a Las Vegas casino during the 2014 FIFA World Cup football, has no association with the Chinese criminal triads according to a Malaysian minister. This statement will help to debunk the US FBI's case claiming that Phua has ties to organized crime organizations. Phua's defense is using the letter from the minister to their advantage and seeing that it is filed with the court. A decision on whether the FBI had a right to shut off internet access in Phua's villa in Las Vegas to get inside and collect evidence rather than attempt to get a search warrant first. Both Phua and his son Darren are out on bail and scheduled for court on February 9, 2015.
