Back Can You Beat Cepheus at Poker?

Do you think you're smarter than a computer? Well, computer scientists claim to have developed an algorithm that has solved a version of Texas Hold 'em, which will also beat any live player. If you think you've got what it takes to beat the computer you can try it out for yourself.

The program, called Cepheus, was created to play a perfect game of heads-up limit hold'em, which is similar to Texas Hold 'em but there are just two players and a fixed number of bet sizes and raises.

Cepheus evolves by “learning” from mistakes and has played billions of hands against itself. The program has even mastered the art of bluffing and some say that Cepheus could be used in modeling real-life situations such as negotiations or auctions with imperfect information.

Players can certainly beat Cepheus in poker games since there is a chance that you will be dealt better cards but over longer periods of time, Cepheus will always win.
