New Yorker Doing Well in the Poker Tournament Circuit
29-year-old poker pro, Jose Montes of New York, won $352,669 in the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Choctaw Durant in January where he took down a field of 1,363 and celebrates yet another big win this week. The win came after he bested a field of 761 entrants in the $1,650 buy-in Heartland Poker Tour Golden Gates tournament to take the top spot and $240,523. Montes faced Joe Serock, of Albuquerque, in the heads up and after several hours Montes sent Serock home in second place with $148,895.
