Back The Professional Poker Industry Loses Dave “DevilFish” Ulliott to Cancer

It is with a heavy heart that we bring you the news of the passing of British pro gambler and poker player, Dave Ulliott, who lost his battle with cancer on Monday.

Ulliott, 61, had two nicknames during his career, the first of which was “Dave-The Clock” early on and later became known as Dave “DevilFish” Ulliott.

Playing poker with his parents as a youngster certainly paid off as he went on to win a WPT bracelet in 1997.

He was also the winner of the World Poker Tour first season Jack Binion World Poker Open in January 2003 defeating the likes of Phil Ivey to bank $589,175.

Devilfish took over $5 million during his poker tournament career, which lasted more than 20 years.

Ulliott became a high profile player in the UK after being on the British television series “Late Night Poker” in 1999.

Victoria Coren, described his book “DEVILFISH: The Life & Times of a Poker Legend”, published in September 2010 as “The book is, like the man, fast, funny, scary, smart, cocky, colourful, and I adore them both.”

The news of Ulliott's passing was announced on his official Twitter account. He has seven children to keep his memory alive.
