Damjan Radanov, 33, was the last man standing in the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Harrah's in New Orleans taking the first prize of $174,514.
The Memphis resident managed to come out on top against a field of 554 hopefuls including four-time ring winner David Nicholson.
Radanov faced Nicholson in the heads up but ultimately sent him home in second place with $107,939.
Born in Serbia, Radanov made the move to the US nearly 10 years ago. He finished three years of law school but never pursued a career in law in America. Instead, he has played poker for the last six years.
