Details on Pennsylvania Poker Bill Available
Pennsylvanian Senator Sean Wiley's gambling draft proposal includes licensing and regulation provisions as more information has become available this week. The focus of the bill is the licensing and regulation of online poker by the start of 2017. Pennsylvania land based casinos would be the only operators authorized to apply for licensing at a cost of $500,000 and a 36 percent tax rate. Wiley's proposal allocates the revenue to the state racing industry, a Casino Reinvestment Grant Fund and a freeze on school property for senior citizens Finally, the bill also suggests amendments to state laws with regard to land based casinos including a freeze on additional land casino licenses to allow for a review of the current market.
