The World Series of Poker Hyper Hold'em format of fast-action poker attracted 1,436 players in Event 6 won by 26-year-old John Reading of Minnesota. Reading banked $252,068 and his first WSOP Gold Bracelet. The final table included Dublin's Mark McDowell, New Yorker Harrison Beach, Alexandr Gofman from Russia, Californians Matt Woodward and Rob Suer, Kenneth Johnson from Minnesota, Ryan Julius from Illinois and Wayne Boyd. It took just 48 hands to determine the winner and Reading knocked out his heads up opponent, Mark McDowell, within 8 hands sending him home in second place with $155,876.
