Ivan Luca Brings Argentina’s First WSOP Win Home
Ivan Luca, 23-year-old Argentinian poker pro, brought home the first World Series of Poker win for his country on Wednesday in Event 30, a $1,000 buy-in NLHE competition, earning a $353,391 prize and a winner's bracelet. A total of 216 players cashed from the $1.93 million prize pool and Luca went up against high profile players like Antonio Esfandiari, Bertrand Grospellier, Jason Koon and Chris Moorman, who didn't make it to the final table. Luca entered the heads up as chip leader against Czech pro Artur Rudziankov and knocked him out in second place. This win boosts Luca's total live tournament career earnings to $1.2 million.
