Californians for Responsible iPoker is the latest online poker initiative to launch and may be supported at www.californians4ipoker.com. The goal is to give California residents a voice to support a regulated online poker market within state borders.
The initiative receives funding from the pro-online poker legalization coalition which includes PokerStars, Amaya Gaming, the Morongo and San Manuel Bands of Mission Indians and the Bicycle, Commerce and Hawaiian Gardens cardrooms.
The alliance will also arrange appearances by high profile players such as Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Selbst and Jason Mercier.
The Viejas tribal group, a member of an anti-PokerStars alliance that includes the Pechanga, Barona, Agua Caliente and other bands, released radio advertisements that knocked PokerStars and may have something to do with the new initiative.
