WSOP Main Event: And Then There Were 69
Day 5 at the World Series of Poker main event began with 237 survivors of the initial 6,420 participants but the day finished up with just 69. David Fuhs was the final elimination of the day taking home a check for $96,445. Several high profile players were also eliminated including Matt Glantz, Antonio Esfandiari, John Racener, Matt Waxman, Dan O'Brien, Christian Harder, Ryan D'Angelo, 7-bracelet Men "The Master" Nguyen, Brandon Adams, Declan Connolly, Jake Cody, and Farzad Bonyadi. There are still some big names hanging in there like Brian Hastings, Andrew Moreno, Max Steinberg, Joe McKeehen, Daniel Negreanu, Justin Schwartz, Mark Kroon and Toby Lewis. The day was filled with excitement including the appearance of famous soccer star Neymar Jr., who came to support his friend Felipe "Mojave" Ramos. Neymar signed autographs and took photos with fans including Phil Hellmuth, who was eliminated on Day 3. Day 5 came to a close with Pierre Neuville as chip leader with 7.10 million followed by David Stefanski with 6.48 million and David Peters with 6.13 million.
