John Juanda Victorious in EPT Main Event
44-year-old poker pro, John Juanda has won the Main Event in the PokerStars European Poker Tour in Barcelona making him Euro 1,022,593 richer. He was the last man standing among 1,624 hopefuls to the Euro 5,300 buy-in event, which generated a Euro 8.21 million prize pool. There were 247 players who cashed from the event including Oleksii Khoroshenin, Johnny Lodden, Andre Akkari, Natalie Hof, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Patrik Antonius and 2013 WSOP Main Event champion Ryan Riess. With so much money theoretically on the table it came as no surprise when the field was down to four players - John Juanda, Steve Warburton, Frederik Jensen and Denys Shafikov - and they elected to negotiate a chop. Jensen took 3rd place and Euro 810,294 leaving Juanda to enter the heads up against Warburton, who walked away in 2nd place with an impressive Euro 941,613. Additional final table payouts: Rainer Kempe Euro 320,400 ‪Andreas Samuelsson Euro 253,900 ‪Amir Touma Euro 194,100 ‪Mario Sanchez Euro137,080
