The previous record of 225,000 was also set by PokerStars with its '100 Billion Hands Celebration' promotions earlier this year.

I love playing at pokerstars when they do something like this. The chance to compete in something so groundbreaking and novel is a privilege and a joy. I would love to know when they are going to try to break their latest record so I can register and try my luck and skills out against a world of other players.

This is really a huge number of players. I also participated in this tournament (busted out with AKs in one of the early rounds) but I did not enjoy this. It looked like a freeroll tournament (1 cent buyin is a joke, I know). Congratulations to the ITM's players!
