PokerStars to Kick Off NJCOOP this October
The world's largest online poker room, PokerStars, has announced that it will soon go live with the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP). It has been scheduled to take place between October 15th and the 31st, just before the start of PokerStars Festival New Jersey, a tournament which runs for three weeks, and enables players of all skill levels to compete in live or online play. Offering up a guaranteed prize pool of $1.2 million, and serving as the state's largest online series, the NJCOOP consists of 43 events. Among these events include the $200,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, kicking off on October 30th. It requires a $500 buy-in, while overall entry fees for the championship range from $15 to $1,000. Individuals can earn their way to championship events by participating in daily online qualifiers. Buy-ins begin at just $1. Additionally, PokerStars is awarding main event seats for the Festival New Jersey, which are valued at $1,100 each. In order to qualify, users must participate in five tournaments. Buy-ins begin at $100 and top out at $350. Those who do so must then compete in an All-in Shootout, for a potential seat. Individuals may also score tickets to a $200,000 tournament, scheduled for October 30th and the 31st, via NJCOOP Spin & Go's. Jason Somerville, Team PokerStars Pro member, commented “I'm so excited that PokerStars is bringing the Championship of Online Poker to New Jersey. It's great that players in the region can experience playing in this prestigious festival and the buzz that comes with chasing big prize money and major tournament titles. I'm looking forward to playing and streaming NJCOOP on Twitch in my hunt to win a title in its debut year.” Source: “PokerStars to launch New Jersey Championship of Online Poker” gamingintelligence.com.
