Jennifer Harman

Jennifer Harman was destined to be a professional Poker player by birth. She was born in the illustrious gambling town of Reno, Nevada. From the very beginning her fate as a master of the Big Game was almost sealed as she learned that she had a penchant for the game at the tender age of eight years old. Growing up watching her dad and his friends play Poker mesmerized this young girl and the rest is history that will be written in the best Poker books. Her birth in 1964 in Reno might be considered by some to be an omen but it is her persistence, diligence, and intestinal fortitude that has catapulted her into the spotlight in this traditionally male dominated sport.

Jennifer is no stranger to the fast paced, anxiety filled atmosphere of the World Series of Poker either. Winning her first bracelet in 2000 was just a taste of what was to come for Jennifer. She cemented her second victory in 2002 at a $5K Limit Hold’em match. This second victory has earned her the sole distinction of being the only female player in the history of the World Series of Poker to win two bracelets in open tournaments. Jennifer is certainly not the type of player to rest on her laurels, however, and anyone that has been watching her career will understand that she isn’t nearly ready to quit and there is plenty of room on her wrists for more jewelry.

Anyone that can stand toe to toe with the greatest Poker players in the world would obviously have the type of will and determination that would make them great in virtually any arena; such is the case with Jennifer. Suffering from the same kidney disease that led to both her mother and sister’s death, Jennifer has received a second kidney from an organ donor. Her health problems, and not being the type of person to receive and not give back, galvanized her into creating CODA, Creating Organ Donation Awareness.

Jennifer Harman also co-authored what is regarded by many as the absolute authority in breaking in to professional Poker, Super System 2. This is the bible that many Poker aficionados live by and Jennifer authored the section on Limit Hold’em. Limit Hold’em is Jennifer’s strongest game but she can hold her own equally well in virtually in Poker tournament or cash game. There isn’t much that Jennifer isn’t able to do; balancing a professional Poker career, and a family. Jennifer is married and has twin boys.

Jennifer spends much of her time playing online Poker at Full Tilt Poker.com. When not playing in the online arena she can be found at the Big Game tables in the most prestigious casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has since moved from her home in Reno to the city of Las Vegas. It really was a move of convenience as Jennifer’s career began to take off but has worked out well for both Jennifer Harman and the casinos that line the famed Las Vegas Strip.
