Family Background

Liz Lieu is known as an American poker player but as the name reveals she has her roots elsewhere. She started her life in Vietnam where her parents decided to take their one year old daughter and her older sister to start a new life in the USA. In Colorado her parents worked hard to provide a good life for their kids and this would later be repaid by Liz. When her father suffered a heart attack Liz asked her parents to quit their jobs. She started to play poker seriously to provide for them and perhaps it is this noble motif that has given her the great success she is still enjoying.

Achievements

John Pahn has had a lot of influence in Liz Lieus poker gaming career. Not only did he help her repair her bankroll but he also got her into tournament play. He convinced her to take part in the $1,500 holdem no limit event in the 2005 World Series of Poker. She ended up in 5th place which got her more than $150,000 in prize money! She also did well in other holdem no limit events the same year. In 2007 Liz was a well known figure in the poker world and she signed with ChiliPoker to represent the site at poker events.
