Michael Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi, also known as "the grinder" is an American professional poker player. Born on January 5th 1981 Michael grew up playing poker on his mother's knee. What started off as a fun pastime turned into something much more serious for this young man. Michael Mizrachi originally wanted to be a doctor and he did actually start studying but he eventually abandoned his studies as he decided to concentrate on poker playing as a professional career.
His decision paid off, since those days of playing poker with the family, Michael Mizrachi has become one of the world's youngest and most successful poker players.
While Mizrachi was still at Medical School he started playing online poker on a small scale with a $5-$10 limit Holdem on Paradise Poker Tournaments. It wasn't long before he started climbing the poker ladder, ascending to $30-$60 and eventually reaching tournaments of $100-$200. As he climbed the ladder he learnt new strategies and skills until he became a world renowned online poker player.
After establishing himself in the world of online poker, Michael Mizrachi made the leap over to live tournaments where his success story continued. After "grinding" (hence his nickname "Grinder") his way to the top, Michael Mizrachi had one success after another. In 2004 he won first place at the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic II / WPT Event Season 3. In 2005 he finished in fifth place in the World Poker Open and just one month later he won $1,859,909 making him first place winner again of the LA Poker Classic.
Mizrachi is not only lucky in Poker, he is also lucky because he has a very supportive family. His wife Aidiliy, his 3 year old son Paul William and his youngest daughter Julie Malka often travel with Michael so they can be together even when he is participating in tournaments which take him away from his home in Miramar, Florida.
He used to have a tour bus which they would travel in but he decided to sell it because it was too extravagant.
Michael Mizrachi's successes have continued every year. In 2006 he won $1,173,373 at the $1000 Borgata Winter Poker Open and that same year he also won CardPlayer magazine's Player of the Year award which is a real honor and achievement for a world-class poker player. In 2007 he won first place at The Wynn Classic. In the 2008 World Series of Poker he finished third which meant he didn't quite get a "bracelet" but in 2010 he won his first bracelet when he won $1,559.046 in The Poker Player's Championship. In 2009 he won second place at the Caesars Palace Poker Tournament – WSOP Circuit Event and first place at the Festa Al Lago Classic / WPT Season 8. Mizrachi has finished first place 15 times. By looking at Michael Mizrachi's long history of poker tournaments it is obvious that Hold'em is his favorite game.
Michael Mizrachi is a fantastic poker player and he is still young with many years of poker playing ahead of him.
