Beginnings of a Poker Professional Player
Following his arrival in the U.S. Minh Ly began working in a Chinese restaurant. At the same time he then started playing poker in an attempt to earn some more money. This seems to be the case for many people in Las Vegas, who played poker as an additional way of raising some extra funds, to try to make ends meet. It took a few years until things started coming together for Minh Ly at the poker tables and he then began to play at games with higher stakes. While playing at the Bellagio, he received some support and advice from Doyle Brunson who recommended that he try spending a bit more time playing at poker tournaments. Once Minh Ly took this advice and began to play at poker tournaments, more success and cash has seemed to come his way.
