To date, as a professional poker player, Padraig Parkinson has made more than $1 million in poker tournament winnings at various events in different places around the world.

Probably the first major poker event that brought public attention to Padraig within poker circles was at the 1999 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament. At this series, Padraig had a successful run in the WSOP No Limit Hold'Em event. In this event, he finished in 3rd place and managed to win the considerable sum of $489,125 for his efforts.

Other significant win in Padraig's career history includes the WSOP No Limit Hold'Em event of 2006. At this tournament, Padraig finished in 3rd place, earning the impressive prize winnings of $203,139.

Padraig's most recent significant win took place in December 2009 at the Poker Stars UK and Ireland Tour (UKIPT). This was the first event of its kind that was held in Ireland. Padraig finished in first place in the No Limit Hold'Em main event and earned prize money in the amount of $179,314. In winning the first UKIPT event, he also won himself a seat for the London EPT. This was a great success for the local boy. It probably meant a lot to him winning the Irish event on home territory.

In addition to the above achievements it is interesting to note that Padraig became the winner of the fifth series of the popular TV poker show 'Late Night Poker'. During this TV series of shows, he entertained many with his banter at the tables.

Today, Padraig Parkinson is based in Paris, where he lives with his partner Veronique. He spends his time traveling from Paris between various poker events that take place in the USA and across Europe. Padraig is generally known for his banter at the tables, his television observations and for his tendency to tell stories. He has been involved in commentating for television on the subject of poker together with his friend Jesse May. On the more personal side, he makes efforts and works towards his Irish charity event by the name of "Poker for the Homeless". This charity has raised approximately 100,000 Euro for the Dublin Simon community.
