Peter Eastgate
Peter Eastgate was born in December of 1985 in Denmark and became famous in the poker field as a young poker world champion. He made the decision to enter the professional poker arena after high school. He learned how to play poker at school and he soon found that he was able to make money through his poker gaming. Although starting studying at college he soon turned his full attention to poker. At the beginning, he concentrated his efforts on online poker play. Even though today, Peter Eastgate is still only a young player, he is ranked at the top of the list of Danish poker players in terms of earnings. He is believed to have won more than $9,000,000 in total winnings from live tournaments.

Peter Eastgate is a professional poker player from Odense, Denmark and is also a PokerStars player. Having begun his poker gaming action in the online arena, Eastgate decided to try his hand at the live tournament games. In 2007, he finished in 9th position at the Irish Poker Open and received more than $46,000 in winnings. After this, he completed the PokerStars European Poker Tour Copenhagen in 32nd position and earned over $16,000. Still relatively unknown at this time in the poker field, he was yet to make his name big time. Peter Eastgate became the winner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event in 2008. Eastgate made a name for himself as the youngest ever winner of the WSOP main event as he was only 22 at the time of the tournament win. In doing this, he pushed aside Phil Hellmuth's prior record as the youngest world poker champion, which stood for 19 years. Eastgate beat more than 6,800 other players including another young final table player, Ivan Demidov, to win the massive prize of $9,152,416. Although he made headlines as the youngest player to win the title, the following year an even younger player won this tournament and that was Joe Cada who was aged 21. An additional claim to fame is that Eastgate also became the first Danish player to win this prestigious WSOP title. Notable wins since becoming a WSOP champion include the European Poker Tour (EPT) Caribbean Adventure $5,000 Event of January 2009, in which he finished in first place and won $343,000. In October 2009, he came 2nd at the EPT London £5,000 No Limit Hold'Em event and earned $843,734.Eastgate is a member of Team Pokerstars Pro and can be found online with the screen name 'PeteEastgate'. Although Peter Eastgate has achieved a great deal within the poker world at such an early age, it appears that there is still room for a lot more poker in him.
