Phil Galfond is a professional American poker player. In 2008, he won a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in the five grand buy in event called Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys.

Galfond is a really successful high stakes online poker player and was therefore asked to appear on Season 4 of the GSN network's "High Stakes Poker." It has been said that he will also appear in Season 6 of the same show. More on the High Stakes Poker television programme later in this article.
Poker pro, Phil Galfond, grew up and attended high school in North Potomac, Maryland. He attended Thomas Sprigg Wootton High School, followed by a few years at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
He had great success at the World Series of Poker tournament in 2008. In that year he had six cashes at the WSOP and managed to earn a whopping $817,781 through the WSOP $5 000 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys event. He managed to defeat Adam Hourani during the tournament’s heads-up play. It was not an easy achievement as he faced some great pro players at the final table. He had to outsmart players like Phil Hellmuth, John Juanda, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Kirill Gerasimov, David Benyamine, and online players like Adam 'houdini' Hourani and Brian 'tsarrast' Rast.
Phil Galfond is mostly known as an online poker pro and he admits to preferring high stakes cash games. Under his nickname ‘OMGClayAiken,’ he picks out mostly $200 / $400 stakes tables and above. He usually goes for Pot-Limit Omaha and No-limit Texas Hold'em tables. He earned $39,570 by finishing seventieth in the ‘08 $25,000 buy-in World Poker Tour No Limit Hold' em Championship Event. Galfond also managed to earn $22 895 by finishing in eighteenth place at the ‘06 WSOP Circuit event held at the Grand Casino Tunica. In 2009, it was calculated that hi live tournament winnings was more than $939 000, and his WSOP winnings alone stand at $868 834.
Phil Galfond has decided to give back to the poker community and opened BlueFirePoker.com in January 2009. Blue Fire Poker is a poker training website that offers instructional videos. It took him a few years of mulling over the idea but he is said to be very satisfied with the outcome of his website. At the website, he is in charge of all the instructional videos and it is also his job to hire extra trainers. He has partners who run the daily operations and business side of things.
Galfond was noticed as a newcomer on the GSN show called High Stakes Poker. He appeared on the fourth season that was taped in 2007 at South Point. Returning poker pro’s included David Benyamine, Patrik Antonius, Doyle Brunson, Sam Farha, Eli Elezra, Jamie Gold, and Jennifer Harman and. Newcomers included Phil Galfond, Brandon Adams, Brian Brandon, and Mike Baxter.
