Sandra Naujoks

Born in July 1981 in Berlin, Germany, Sandra Naujoks' life has taken a few twists. Recently, she has found herself being a popular and successful professional poker player, however that is not how she started out. Naujoks went to college in order to study German and history and she became a teacher. She gave that up in order to pursue modeling and graphic design, both of which she was successful at. And now, Naujoks has discovered a new passion – that of poker.
Poker Background
Naujoks plays online under the name, "Black Mamba," which may be a tribute to the pet snake that she is said to keep at home. She long ago moved from being a name associated with online poker games to a live professional poker player as well. Often seen at poker tables wearing a cowboy hat, it is not only her excellent poker skills that set Naujoks apart from her competitors. Naujoks' looks, together with her unique personality which come out in her cowboy hat, her stories of pet snakes and her Havana cigars that she is regularly seen smoking, give her the unique combination of poker skill and marketability. She was a natural selection for Team Full Tilt.
Poker Career
In 2008, Naujoks placed 5th in the CAPT Graz main event to take home $20,917. Not long afterwards, in the same year she won $1,638 in the Bodensee Poker Championship where she placed 10th, $247,632 in the CAPT Baden PokerEM which she won and $10,444 in the Budapest Poker Stars EPT where she placed 9th.
In 2009, Naujoks began with a bang when in March she won the German open Poker Stars EPT to take home $1,301,265. She did not stop there, however, and also in 2009 she won $56,762 in the Grand Final Poker Stars EPT where she placed 36th, $7,390 in the WSOP event #7 where she placed 61st and $24,267 in the WSOP Europe event #3 where she placed 10th.
In the beginning of January 2010, Naujoks placed 9th in the NAPT Caribbean Poker Adventure Poker Stars EPT to win $56,595.
Most of Naujoks' winnings were earned over a six month period. She entered the poker scene and has certainly given it her best, having started with a big bang. Impressively, she did not end there, but has continued to win since her biggest cash in during 2009 at the EPT German Open. We can look out for impressive poker playing from this rising star.
Sandra Naujoks is sponsored by Full Tilt Poker as part of Team Full Tilt. She has already cashed in three FTOPS events and at the rate she is going, we can expect plenty more from her.
Poker as a Woman
Sandra Naujok's 2009 EPT German Open win made her the second female champion ever to win that event.
After her successes in 2008, Naujok was awarded the 2008 "Europe's Leading Lady" award at the European Poker Awards. She has also been awarded the European Female Player of the Year award.
