Tony G elected as MEP
« on: May 28, 2014, 03:46:21 AM »
Poker Pro Tony G has been elected as a Member of the European Parliament.

He will serve 5 years as an MEP which will surely take him away from poker scene for some time.  He was quoted as saying by the associated press "Today, we made history in Lithuanian politics, for the first time Liberals have won two seats in the European Parliament. My sincere thanks go to all voters, those who supported and helped me along the way!"

You'll remember that video where Tony is just so mad at the Russian guy - you can watch it

I think he'll be a force to be reckoned with as an MEP, what say you?

Well, at least the other EP members might have some fun now and again :) As long as they don't start playing poker with him :)

I voted for him too :) He's a good man, gave a lot to charity, always ready to help . Can't blame him for poker, because it's a POKER, in real life he's absolutely different, kind man. Tony spent whole his free time traveling around the country and discussing with people. We have many bad politicians there, so Tony deserve at least to try be in political arena. He said, that in Europe parliament he will be at least 2 years, because he wants to stay in Lithuania and work here, in our parliament. But next election in 2016 now, so he have time to do some in EP.

I agree.  I think the way he treated that poor Russian guy was just horrible although when I think about it, was he using some very clever tactics...

Thanks for "fixing" the video for me Zuga.

It's good to read that information Armage.  I would hope he could do some good and I also hope he doesn't dish out his vile "poker attitude" at any time.

He spoke on many interviews about those "poker attitudes" , said that it only tactics. I never saw him angry in real life.. always calm and confident. But of course we need to see him working on EP, and then decide :)

yes it did cross my mind it could be his tactic, but still it is a poor choice and bad poker etiquette.

but i guess you can argue that the end justifies the means.

However if he trashed talked at me I would kick his arse for sure LOL

Wow!  What a jerk and jack@ss.  I can't believe some of his "poker attitude" doesn't carry over into his regular life.

Sure wish the Russian would have beat him on that hand. He would have deserved it.

I agree Tony G is a jerk and a bully but i thi k its kind of funny how he goes at  Phill "poker brat" Hellmuth .

I almost felt bad for Phil but then when you see him flipping at poker amateurs and other players i guess he deserves to taste bit of his own medicine.
