So here we have a freeroll at 888Poker.
It's very early in the game and I know nothing about this player that raised me all in.
What would you do?

ReadBlue, since it's early in the game and you do not know much about how the other player plays,I would fold.
I'd uninstall 888 poker coz it annoys the hell outta me! ;)
Interesting you actually have 74% equity on that flop against a random unknown hand to make the call.
However against any A or Q type hands u still a big underdog so it does basically depend on the range of hands u put ur opponent on.
Like did he limp or raise pre flop? How often does he voluntarily put money into the pot?All this info will give u a better judgement on what his possible hand range is.
*Also i hope u raised pre flop or 3 bet?4 betting or 5 betting hands like this pre flop and getting it allin is neceassary to avoid decisions like this on the flop. :)
I would fold definitely had there been lower cards in the flop then your opponent would need either a straight which is hard to come by or a higher pair than you but as its high cards in the flop and early days in the game I'd fold immidiately here definitely if they have a 2 pair here or even a pair of kings you are screwed! lol there is number of hand combinations possible here!
You raised pre-flop and he flat called... he does not know how you play either. Flop comes down with those high cards, 2 of which he could beat you with if he paired up. I am thinking he had an Ace and a rag or a lower pair and he seems like a player that likes to make a quick stack at the outset of the hand, taking advantage of a new table, no knowledge, and most players feeling the others out for future hands.
If he takes this hand he has a huge advantage and if he doesn't he is out of the game with no time invested. You are also in the same position, as far as that goes. So, with all that in consideration and the outs you have that could give you the hand if you don't already have it, I would play the hand. Then I would probably quietly leave that game chanting my personal poker mantra, "Sh.., I did it again!"

Thanks for all the replies.
It took me a while to make a decision on this one. I had no knowledge of the player at all and had this been a bit further along in the game, I certainly would have used the knowledge I'd gained about this person's play to make my decision. So here I am with no info but what I did consider was the "earliness" (is that a word?) of the game and the mentality of players in freerolls at the start of a tournament.
I decided that this guy was just trying to buy the pot with nothing and I called. See the outcome in the pic. ;D
Haha GREAT!...u know i was thinking that this is freeroll and players usually do that bet as they don't want a call but a fold and usually have total crap and is big bluff, but u got in there before i could post. ;) Technically should be easy fold for u but just goes to show gut instinct and a little thinking as to why he would make that bet goes along way! :)
Wonderful outcome blue! Read him right and took him out... way to go! By the way, how did you do in the tournament overall?
katt
I came in around 200th out of a few thousand but not in the money....boooo!
I must admit I don't like 888poker software - it seems so rigged. "He who hath the largest stack at showdown wil surely winneth the hand" The RNG on there is absolutely awful.
blue
Ok blue, you said you'd like to see some WWYD's from somebody besides you. So, I am giving it a go, but I want to call it WWBD instead because it is your voice I hear when I am deciding at the table!
:-bd
Here is the hand at the point of my decision. I raised to $240 and SB went ALL-IN. I was not worried about ohioguy31 at SB as he was ALL-IN with $30... but the player to my immediate right then re-raised ALL-IN with a big chunk of money. He had been playing a moderately tight game, but we were only on hand #15 and he had not been real active. I woke up today thinking it was time to play some poker and was on my game and playing comfortably loose. So, what would you do?
katt
Great to see you playing again Katt.
Now, you have set me a poser here! 15th hand and guy to your right looks like he may have been sitting out either because he wasn't there when the game started or he was just watching the play before getting involved. (Total guess there lol).
There's 300 in the pot for him to win by going all in and I'm wondering if he's just using position to nick the blinds. If you fold, he can onlly lose 30 and win your 210 (240-30) for having a crap hand.
Being as your cards are suited (apparently this gives a 2% better chance than non-suited), and the fact that I think this guy is not a tight player based on my possibly poor suppositions above, I think I would call.
Can't wait to hear what you did and thank you for posting this.
I'd fold too early in game still got plenty chips not really ahead of anything i'd presume in his range.99+ better A prob.
Don't mind a call either only coz u got him covered and have extra outs coz suited and still left with starting chips if lose but it's big gamble to take so early more often than not u will be behind.
240 big raise also if u adjust bet size maybe 80 lose less when some1 comes over the top like that.
That's a good site btw used play there before.
Put me out of my misery. 8p
Ok blue, here goes. Knowing that losing the hand would take half of my stack, I thought that losing half my stack would not hurt me too badly and I would have time to recover if it did not go well.
So, I paid my money and held my breath and here it is:
How do you say, "Whew?"
katt
I think the guy that went all in with $30 was the one that was most gutted...
katt
Sods law Katt. I bet he was totally gutted but, a chip and a chair is all it takes.
I just noticed your opponent to the right's name "bingonany" - he's a bingo player!
blue
Thinking about that name, perhaps it was a lady player. But I was thinking the same thing about being a bingo player who perhaps needed to go play bingo instead.

I am assuming your opponent flat called pre-flop and is all-in, so with that I would definitely call if he has and does. Heck, you have a large number of outs and as rosebud said, hope he did not come in with a 6,7. He can't win with a flush because you have the ace, even if he is holding 2 clubs. And you both might make a gut shot straight.

Yes he did flat call pre-flop Katt.
I will post what I did later today in case anyone else wants to "have a go".

Thanks all. It's great when you make a right decision (for a change LOL)
As soon as I can get another game, I'll try and find a decent hand to post.....in the meantime, you ladies and gents are at liberty to post a nice "what would you do hand" and for entertainment until then, here is a lovely old song from Pam Tillis...
This is a "New to the Game" table at FT Buyin is $2.25. Slow game and not much action at all. This is not an all in bet but it would be nice to hear what you have to say about the hand/bet etc.
My note on this player reads "Plays poorly and winges when beaten. Called oop (out of position) 6j off"
Would you have called?
No point in calling hoping for a 4 or maybe an Ace. Your equity is very low in this hand and you dont have much in the middle so its best to leave it.
A bluff may be an option, but if you say hes a weaker player, its unlikely that a bluff will get thme off anything, even bottom pair. Best to move on and play the next hand.
My philosophy when playing against weak players is to play str8 forward. You can fund much better spots than this to get the money
