Mar 05, 2009
"LarsLuzak" enjoys a truly millionaire month According to the independent online poker statistical site MarketPulse, many top online poker players continued to score bigtime during February games, mainly at high stakes Full Tilt Poker games, although there were those who took some serious losses, too. Biggest winner on the most popular NLHE list for February 2009 was Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro, who earned an impressive $1.57 million from his online poker activities, followed by the as yet unidentified player using the handle " __FullFlush1__ " who made a profit from his or her talent and skill of $848 424. For Kelopuro the top slot winnings more than compensated him for losses of $1.3 million incurred in January this year. Third spot on the list of big winners went to "Toomuchneon" who achieved $328 961 at Pokerstars, closely followed by "FLIPokeHer" on $327 103. Tom "Durrr" Dwan came in at fifth spot, earning $307 588 in his by now well known dramatic swings in fortune. There was a wide gap between Durrr's success and that of the sixth player on the winners list, "sugarbritches10" who took home a profit of $179 708, with "bfl4me," another Pokerstars player, hot on his heels with $177 436. The number eight slot went to "plastikcards" with a profit of $173 678, followed by "Pacuno" whilst the tenth place was claimed by Party Poker's "RRR111RRR111" with a very useful $156 539. The other side of the coin was the major NLHE losers for February, headed on this occasion by the highly respected international poker pro Phil Ivey, who appears to be taking a staggering $961 387 loss in his stride. Ivey ameliorated some of his loss by profiting some $450 000 on other versions of poker, but it was still a big hit to take. The other nine big NLHE losers for February were as follows: Patrik Antonius down $553 314 Current WSOP Main Event champion Peter "Isser" Eastgate who sank $367 717 "thedarktilt" $242 832 David Benefield $202 950 "ip_control" $200 276 "20 Buck Spin" $148 889 "nutsinho" $141 702 "control101" $126 994 "ElkY" Grospellier $121 626
