PPA Joins Poker Funds Seizure Fight

Motion of amicus curiae filed Account Services Corporation, the US company that is contesting the seizure of poker player funds in its care by the New York US Attorney's Office (see previous InfoPowa report) has a powerful ally in its litigation. This week the one million member Poker Players Alliance filed an amicus curiae motion in the court hearing the issue. "As the voice of online poker players, PPA should be granted the opportunity to provide evidence and legal briefings on why online poker is a game of predominant skill and not considered illegal gambling under the law," said John Pappas, executive director of the PPA
